Some definitions of diagnosis and information about symptoms with babies and toddlers
Tongue Tie
The tissue under the tongue can be too short or too tight, which can restrict tongue motions. This can cause problems with speaking, eating, sleeping, and postural alignment / motor skills.
In infants, can cause difficulty with breastfeeding, bottle feeding and influence gassiness and reflux
Lip Tie
The tissue under the upper and/or lower lip is too short or too tight which can cause problems with speaking and eating.
85% of those with upper lip ties also have a tongue tie.
Buccal Ties
Tissue that is abnormally attached from the gums to the inside of the cheeks
Fascial Tissue
Tissue that wraps around every cell of the body, not just muscle.
